Torin Hession

Head Coach

Torin Hession is from Oakville, and he grew up playing for the Oakville Rangers. Following his Minor Hockey career Torin played in the OJHL where he captained the Mississauga Chargers and won a Golden Horseshoe Championship with the GOJHL Kilty B’s. After his Junior career came to an end Torin had offers from the NCAA and Pro offers in Sweden but ultimately decided to give back to the game that has taught him so much and start his own hockey school to develop players to their highest potential.

Jordan Rookyard

Coach

Coach Jordan Rookyard, an Oakville native, brings a decade of coaching experience to the team, fueled by a lifelong passion for hockey. He played his entire minor hockey career with the Oakville Rangers Hockey Club (ORHC), and upon the end of his playing days, he immediately committed to giving back to the community and having a positive impact on young athletes. With 10 years of coaching experience at ORHC, he focuses on fostering a growth mindset and developing a positive and inclusive team culture. His coaching covers hard work, team systems, structured play, fitness, and skill development. Ultimately, Coach Rookyard strives to help players overcome challenges and build resilience, ensuring they develop not only into exceptional hockey players but also into confident individuals and better people. Currently is the head coach for Oakville Rangers U11 AA.

Alex Dameski

Coach

Alex Dameski has joined HHD Team as a coach, bringing a wealth of experience and accolades from his playing career. He played youth hockey for the Oakville Rangers and advanced through multiple junior leagues, including the NCDC (with the Jersey Hitmen), the OJHL (Brantford 99ers, Brampton Admirals), the GOJHL (Welland Canadians), and the USPHL (Elmira Jr Enforcers). He concluded his playing days at SUNY Geneseo and has a strong record of success, including being an UCHC Champion and an NCDC Champion, along with a Frozen Four Appearance. His individual honors include participation in the NCDC All-Star Game and the GOJHL All-Star game, and being named to the SUNYAC 2nd Team all Conference. He is expected to leverage this background to help the team’s athletes “get to the next level.” Currently is the Captain on Geneseo Ice Knight this season

Justin Legault

Coach

Coach Justin (Leggy) joined the HHD team as they continue to build an all-star coaching staff. He recently finished his freshman year at Cortland University NCAA, where he had a standout season, landing a spot on the 2024-25 SUNYAC all rookie team. Before college, Justin played youth hockey for the Oakville Rangers and competed in the OJHL for the Toronto Patriots, Burlington Cougars, and the Collingwood Blues, with whom he won the 2022-23 OJHL Championship. His junior career also saw him participate in the 2023-24 OJHL All-Star Game.

Ryan Schaap

Coach

HHD has welcomed Coach Ryan, noting he will add even more talent to the team. Ryan played youth hockey for the Hamilton Husky’s AAA and competed in the OJHL for the Mississauga Chargers and the Wellington Dukes. His junior career was capped by being named to the OJHL All Star Team. Ryan has just completed his final year of junior hockey and is in the process of deciding which collegiate offer to accept from the options he has received in both NCAA and Usport. Currently signed with Laurier University for the 2025-2026 season
